Join Georgia Comfort Care
Are you a compassionate, reliable individual who loves making a positive difference in the lives of others? Georgia Comfort Care is seeking dedicated Companion Sitters to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide vital non-medical support, companionship, and safety supervision to seniors or adults with disabilities, helping them remain comfortable and independent in their own homes. As a W-2 employee of Georgia Comfort Care, you will work within a structured, supportive environment that prioritizes regulatory compliance, caregiver safety, and exceptional client care.
What You Should Know About This Role (Realities of the Job)
- Strictly Non-Medical & Non-Personal Care: This is a companion sitter position. You will not perform clinical medical procedures such as wound care, injections, or vital sign logging, or heavy personal care such as bathing, direct toileting assistance, or complex physical transfers.
- Independent In-Home Work: You will work directly inside private client homes. Home environments vary in layout, cleanliness, and settings, including some homes with pets or tobacco smoke. You must be comfortable working independently and exercising sound judgment during quiet shift hours.
- Mandatory Digital Clock-Ins (EVV): You must use a mobile smartphone app for Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) to clock in and out of every shift and record completed tasks at the client's location.
Key Responsibilities
- Companionship & Engagement: Provide meaningful social interaction, active listening, emotional support, and activities such as hobbies, puzzles, reading, conversation, or light indoor/outdoor activities.
- Supervision & Safety Monitoring: Maintain a safe, hazard-free environment and provide attentive line-of-sight supervision for fall prevention and client well-being.
- Medication Reminders: Provide timely verbal reminders for self-administered medications. Companion Sitters do not handle, sort, or administer medication directly.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light chores directly related to the client, such as dusting, light sweeping, wiping counters, washing client dishes, folding laundry, and changing bed linens.
- Meal Preparation & Hydration: Prepare simple, nutritious meals and snacks according to the care plan and dietary preferences, and ensure fresh water is accessible.
- Errands: Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, or community outings.
- Documentation & Reporting: Promptly document shift notes in the employee portal and report physical, behavioral, or environmental changes to agency management.
